The new 5 Series adopts the second-generation i-Drive control system equipped on BMW's new 7 Series, and has been improved. The menu structure is simpler, allowing simple and intuitive control of many auxiliary functions.

The external display device of the i-Drive control system is a knob controller located at the gear lever of a traditional car and an LCD display in the middle of the instrument panel. i-Drive is very easy to use.
